Microbe Evolution — free online Casual game

Watch a species you cannot command evolve into a civilisation.

Microbe Evolution is a free online evolution simulation game. You cannot order your creatures around — you can only change the pressure they live under by granting boons or triggering disasters. Feed them, watch them fight, breed and learn, and see whether they clear the intelligence threshold and build a civilisation that climbs fourteen ages. Free in your browser, no download, no sign-up.

How to play Microbe Evolution

  1. Your creatures act on their own: foraging, socialising, resting, breeding and thinking.
  2. You only steer indirectly — grant a boon to ease a pressure, or trigger a disaster to force adaptation.
  3. Creatures that devour rivals inherit genetic memory and grow visible limbs, shells, wings or sense organs.
  4. Once intelligence is reached, civilisation runs its own fourteen-age tech tree.

Controls

  • Mouse: click buttons and panels
  • Grant boons and trigger disasters from the god panel
  • Switch tabs to follow combat, genetics and civilisation progress
