Brisca — free online Card game
The Spanish-deck trick game: a face-up trump, three cards in hand and 120 points to fight for.
Brisca is free to play in your browser with the 40-card Spanish deck — coins (oros), cups (copas), swords (espadas) and clubs (bastos). The card turned up under the deck sets the trump suit. Each player plays one card to the trick: the highest trump wins it, otherwise the highest card of the suit led, and you never have to follow suit. Then everybody draws back up to three cards. Aces are worth 11, threes 10, kings 4, knights 3 and jacks 2; take more than 60 of the 120 points to win the hand, and two hands to win the match. Holding the 7 of trumps you may swap it for a face-up court card, ace or three (the 2 of trumps takes a 4 to 7). Play one against one, or two against two with a computer partner who shows you his cards once the deck runs out, at three levels. No download, no sign-up.
Quick start
- Press Start and choose 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 (your partner sits opposite).
- Look at the trump suit next to the deck, then tap a card to play it — any card is allowed.
- The highest trump, or else the highest card of the suit led, takes the trick. Everyone then draws a card.
- When all cards are played, the side with more than 60 points wins the hand. Two hands win the match.
How to play Brisca
- Brisca uses the 40-card Spanish deck: four suits — coins (oros), cups (copas), swords (espadas) and clubs (bastos) — with 1 to 7, the jack (sota, 10), knight (caballo, 11) and king (rey, 12).
- Each player gets three cards. The next card is turned face up under the deck: its suit is trumps, and it will be the very last card drawn.
- In each trick everyone plays one card. You may play any card; there is no duty to follow suit or to trump.
- Inside a suit the order is ace, three, king, knight, jack, 7, 6, 5, 4, 2. Any trump beats any card of another suit.
- The trick winner draws first, then the others in turn, and leads the next trick.
- If you hold the 7 of trumps you may swap it for the face-up trump card when that is a court card, ace or three; the 2 of trumps can take a 4, 5, 6 or 7. Use the SWAP button before you play.
- In 2 vs 2, once the deck is empty your partner shows you the cards they still hold.
Card points

- Highest of the court cards.
- Knight (caballo, 11)3
- Jack (sota, 10)2
- 7, 6, 5, 4, 20
- Blank cards ("blancas") — good for throwing away.
Controls
- Tap a card in your hand to play it
- SWAP exchanges your 7 (or 2) of trumps for the face-up trump card when allowed
- Enter or Space lets the computer choose a sensible card for you
- The side panel shows the trump suit, the points taken so far and the hands won
Tips
- Lead with blank cards and keep your aces and threes until they are safe.
- Don't spend a trump on a trick with no points in it.
- Count the aces and threes that have gone: once the ace of a suit is out, its three is the boss.
- In pairs, when your partner is already winning the trick, add points ("cargar") instead of a trump.
